Bless God America
Jerry Barnes
Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, Jerry Barnes is a seasoned Southern Gospel artist whose music blends heartfelt lyrics with timeless country influences. Inspired by legends like Vern Gosdin, Ricky Van Shelton, Gene Watson, and Merle Hadggard, Jerry's voice carries a powerful, spiritual message rooted in faith and life experience.
Though born into a family of talented musicians, Jerry didn't discover his own gift for singing until the age of 25. In 1988, he felt a divine calling and began his journey with the motto, "Singing For My Jesus" ~ a path he's walked ever since. His deeply personal lyrics and soulful delivery have made him a beloved performer throughout Kentucky and beyond.
In 2002, Jerry wrote and recorded the album Bless God America, a heartfelt tribute to faith and country. The album, now newly released on digital platforms, continues to inspire listeners with its uplifting message. That same passion for songwriting earned him the Golden Pen Award at the 2004 King Eagle Awards in Nashville, presented by Airplay International.
Jerry has graced the stage of iconic venues including Joel Ray's Lincoln Jamboree in Hodgenville, KY, the Shepherdsville Country Music Show, and has been a highly revered entertainer for over 15 years for the General Electric Retirement Association (GERA).
